Day-by-Day Overview

• Sunday: Workshops (day) and Reception (evening)
• Monday morning: Opening plenary session (US, Europe, Asia, Canada)
• Monday afternoon to Wednesday afternoon: Parallel technical sessions (five half days)
• Monday evening: Student Professional Development Panel
• Tuesday evening: Poster sessions
  • Posters assigned by TPC, or requested by author
  • Student posters
• Wednesday evening: Conference banquet
• Thursday morning: Closing plenary session
• Thursday afternoon: Technical tours (McMaster University, Stern Labs)

Other Program Details

• Wine-and-cheese reception for the poster session
• Two hosted lunches (Mon, Thu) with award ceremonies
• Coffee breaks in morning and afternoon
• Exhibit area available
• Publication of full papers:
  • Full papers (including those presented as posters) to be submitted for publication on the electronic proceedings designed by professionals
  • Revised conference papers may be submitted to NSE for review and possible publication. Details can be found here.

Student Program

• Meet and greet (Sunday between workshops and reception)
• Introductions and briefing for students participating in logistics (A/V, etc)
• Student Professional Development Panel (Monday evening):
  • Panel with speakers from industry and academia sharing career experiences
  • Panelists from NAYGN and WiN
• Student paper awards:
• Posters and oral presentations judged by delegates;
• papers judged by reviewers
• Designated seating at lunches to encourage mingling with professionals
• Financial incentives for students:
• Reduced registration fees
• Small remuneration (100 CAD$) for A/V support and assistance during sessions
• Alternative (shared) accommodation at reduced rate
• Travel grants cannot be provided
